HealthCorps is seeking a Marketing and Communications Intern to support regional outreach and storytelling efforts. This role is designed for students pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Health, or Business Administration who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit storytelling and community engagement. You will serve as an ambassador for the organization, working to connect students, educators, and community members to the mission of improving youth health and wellness.
What you'll do#
- Support content collection and storytelling projects for digital communications, including newsletters, websites, and social media.
- Visit local school sites weekly to capture stories and content from Teens Make Health Happen clubs.
- Help manage regional social media channels by creating, publishing, and monitoring content.
- Assist with the development of communications materials such as email updates, presentations, and event invitations.
- Create marketing collateral, including flyers, posters, and signage for regional initiatives.
- Support the promotion and execution of regional events through digital outreach and storytelling.
- Track engagement analytics and assist in reporting to measure the impact of marketing efforts.
- Collaborate with regional staff and fellow interns to align on messaging and campaign strategies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Communications, Marketing, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Applied understanding of basic marketing principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with major social media platforms.
- Basic photography, image, and video editing skills.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with design tools like Canva or video editing software is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Portsmouth, Ohio.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Commitment: 8+ hours per week during the 2026–2027 academic year.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship offering a stipend. College credit may be available depending on university requirements.
