About the role#
HealthCorps is seeking a Teen Health Education Intern to serve as a near-peer mentor for middle and high school students in Ada, Oklahoma. You will act as a catalyst for wellness by leading the Teens Make Health Happen program, empowering students to make healthier choices and fostering leadership opportunities within their schools and neighborhoods.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with teen wellness leaders and site partners to ensure the effective delivery of HealthCorps programming across assigned school sites.
- Research health challenges facing local schools and measure program impact through needs assessments and reporting.
- Plan and implement the Teens Make Health Happen program, including onsite instructional time.
- Host monthly health demonstrations at school sites and provide support for regional events.
- Promote local health resources to ensure accessibility for all students and staff.
- Contribute to organizational outreach efforts and share program highlights.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in public health, psychology, nutrition, marketing, biology, health administration, public policy, education, or social work.
- Good academic standing with your university.
- Commitment of 8+ hours per week for the duration of the academic year.
- Strong desire for personal and professional growth as a community leader.
- Comfort in learning and presenting health-related topics to a teen audience.
- Ability to travel up to 60 miles within the Ada area and lift up to 15 pounds.

- Compensation: This is a paid internship offering a stipend. College credit may be available depending on university requirements.
