The Teens Make Health Happen Marketing & Communications Internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit storytelling, public health, and community outreach. Interns serve as key members of the regional team, elevating the HealthCorps mission by connecting students, educators, and community members to program impact. This role requires a commitment of 8 hours per week throughout the 2026–2027 academic year, including site visits to local schools.
What you'll do#
- Support content collection and storytelling projects for digital communications, social media, and newsletters.
- Visit local school sites weekly to capture stories and content from Teens Make Health Happen Clubs.
- Manage regional social media channels, including Instagram and TikTok, by creating content and monitoring engagement.
- Assist with the development of communications materials such as newsletters, presentations, and event invitations.
- Create and update marketing collateral, including flyers, posters, and event signage.
- Support the promotion and execution of regional events through digital outreach and storytelling.
- Track engagement analytics and assist in monthly reporting to assess program impact.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Communications, Marketing, Public Health, or Business Administration.
- Applied understanding of basic marketing principles.
- Familiarity with major social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic photography, image, and video editing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Ability to travel up to 40 miles within the San Diego area to assigned sites.

- Term: Fall 2026 (Academic Year 2026–2027).
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: Paid via stipend; college credit available.
