About the role#
This internship offers exposure to various HR functions at HarperCollins Publishers. You will rotate through specialties including recruitment, the employee lifecycle, employee relations, training, diversity and inclusion, and HR administration to gain a broad understanding of operations.
What you'll do#
- Manage job postings, applications, and interview coordination.
- Help organize recruitment events and outreach.
- Support onboarding and offboarding, including preparing materials and assisting with orientation.
- Partner with the People Team to handle employee and managerial inquiries.
- Take notes during intake calls and update trackers.
- Assist in planning training programs and tracking feedback.
- Coordinate diversity and inclusion initiatives and analyze engagement survey results.
- Maintain employee records and update HR databases.
- Help administer employee benefits programs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or recent graduation from an undergraduate or master’s program.
- Degree pursuit in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A basic understanding of HR principles and practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive attitude and a passion for books.
- A resume and a cover letter addressed to the Hiring Team.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role in New York City.
- You must be available to work 28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday.
- The term runs from June 7, 2027, to August 12, 2027.
- This position is paid at $18 per hour.
