Student Aide - Business and Social Science

About the role#

The Business and Social Sciences division is seeking a Student Aide to provide administrative and operational support. This role involves assisting faculty, staff, and students with daily tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the division office.

What you'll do#

• Provide general office assistance and perform daily operational tasks.
• Serve as the first point of contact by greeting visitors and students at the front desk.
• Manage phone inquiries and provide directions to guests.
• Assist with student intake, check-in processes, and scheduling appointments.
• Handle administrative duties such as data entry and making copies.
• Support faculty and staff with special projects as needed.

What you'll need#

• Must be a current Harper College student registered for at least 6 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters (or at least 3 credit hours for summer sessions).
• Eligibility for English 097 or higher.
• General office or customer service experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Location & details#

• Location: Palatine, Illinois.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, with availability required between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
• Employment Status: This is a paid, part-time position. Employment sponsorship is not available.
