About the role#
Harper College is seeking a Student Aide for the Adult Educational Development (AED) department. This part-time, paid position supports the daily operations of the department and provides essential assistance to faculty, staff, and students. This role is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, or Human Resources.
What you'll do#
- Greet visitors and provide customer service at the front desk.
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist callers with inquiries.
- Provide information regarding High School Equivalency (HSE) and English Language Acquisition (ELA) programs.
- Perform data entry, sort and distribute mail, and maintain student records.
- Keep office supplies organized and stocked.
- Assist faculty and staff with various administrative tasks.
- Help with the coordination and organization of AED events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Harper College with a minimum of six credits per semester (or three credits for the summer semester).
- Basic keyboarding skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- Prior office or customer service experience is preferred.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish are considered an advantage.

- Location: Palatine, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, 5 to 20 hours per week. Availability required between Monday and Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
