About the role#
Halff is seeking a Public Works Intern for the Summer 2027 term in our Tyler, Texas office. This full-time, paid internship runs from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027. You will work 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
What you'll do#
- Design civil engineering projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects.
- Perform CAD drafting work.
- Conduct calculations and analysis for design projects.
- Assist in preparing permit applications and regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with team members including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work within a team.
- Self-motivation and organizational skills.

- This role is based on-site in Tyler, Texas.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
