About the role#
Austin Industrial, Inc. is seeking a Project Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time internship based in Las Colinas, Texas. You will work on-site at a project location, gaining hands-on experience by supporting active construction operations and field teams.
What you'll do#
- Process submittals by reviewing, stamping, filing, and distributing documentation.
- Send RFI’s to architects and engineers.
- Resolve problems identified from plans and specifications.
- Update and distribute construction drawings, shop drawings, and samples.
- Participate in and aid with weekly safety meetings.
- Lead project orientation and maintain logs.
- Assist with trade contractor coordination and scheduling.
- Maintain project look-ahead schedules.
- Verify construction techniques against plans and specifications.
- Assist with project planning and scheduling.
- Engage in training with construction management software and tools.
- Participate in team meetings and client interactions.
- Support documentation and reporting processes.
What you'll need#
- Active junior or senior status in a bachelor's degree program for Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field.
- Targeted graduation date between August 2027 and December 2028.
- Ability to work up to 40 hours per week.
- Ability to commute on-site to the assigned location.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical thinking and professional presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in project teams.
- Legal authorization to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship.
