About the role#
This paid, 12-week internship provides hands-on experience on heavy civil construction projects. Interns work directly with seasoned professionals on complex infrastructure, including highway interchanges, bridges, and water facilities. You will be classified as a temporary employee-owner and will participate in project meetings, site visits, and team collaborations throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Process submittals by reviewing, stamping, filing, and distributing documents.
- Send RFI’s to architects and engineers.
- Participate in and aid with weekly safety meetings, including writing meeting minutes.
- Assist with trade contractor coordination and scheduling.
- Maintain and distribute construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Lead project orientation and maintain project logs.
- Verify construction techniques per plans and specifications.
- Engage in hands-on training with construction management software and tools.
- Support documentation and reporting processes to ensure accurate project records.
What you'll need#
- Active junior or senior status in a bachelor’s degree program for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- Targeted graduation date between December 2027 and December 2028.
- Ability to work up to 40 hours per week, with hours varying by project schedule.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to think analytically and work effectively in project teams.
- Legal authorization to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship.
