About the role#
This paid, 12-week internship provides hands-on experience on heavy civil construction projects, including highway interchanges, bridges, and rail facilities. Interns work directly with construction professionals to gain exposure to project management and field operations. The program runs full-time from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Process submittals by reviewing, stamping, filing, and distributing documentation.
- Send RFI's to architects and engineers.
- Participate in and aid with weekly safety meetings, including writing meeting minutes.
- Assist with trade contractor coordination, scheduling, and maintaining project look-ahead schedules.
- Update and distribute construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and samples.
- Lead project orientation and maintain logs.
- Verify construction techniques per plans and specifications.
- Engage in hands-on training with construction management software and tools.
- Participate in team meetings and client interactions.
What you'll need#
- Active junior or senior status working toward a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- Targeted graduation date between December 2027 and December 2028.
- Ability to work up to 40 hours per week, with hours varying by project schedule.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to commute onsite to the assigned location.
- Legal authorization to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship.
- Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
