About the role#
Halff is looking for a Public Works Intern to join our team in Mesa, Arizona. This is a full-time, paid internship running from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027. You will work 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 8a to 5p. Please note that we do not provide or pay for housing for this position.
What you'll do#
- Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
- Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects.
- Perform drafting CAD work.
- Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
- Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work well within a team.
- Self-motivation and strong organization skills.
