About the role#
Halff is looking for a Civil Engineer Intern to join the Water Resources team in Houston for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, paid internship running from June 7th to August 13th. You will work on-site under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer to support drainage, stormwater, and water resources projects.
What you'll do#
- Design civil engineering projects and perform related calculations and analysis.
- Create drainage and stormwater designs.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water Resources projects.
- Perform drafting work using CAD software.
- Assist in preparing permit applications and regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with surveyors, architects, and contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Civil Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent.
- Strong self-motivation and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and team building abilities.
- Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is preferred but not required.

- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
