About the role#
Halff is hiring an intern for our Public Works and Transportation team in Houston. This is a full-time, paid position where you will support civil engineering projects. You will work under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
What you'll do#
- Design civil engineering projects with guidance from a Professional Engineer.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects.
- Perform CAD drafting work.
- Run calculations and analysis for various design projects.
- Assist with permit applications and other regulatory documentation.
- Coordinate with team members including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Civil Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work well within a team.
- Self-motivation and strong organizational skills.
