About the role#
Halff is looking for an intern to join the Land Development team in Dallas. You will work on the design and construction observation for a variety of public and private infrastructure projects, including roadways, drainage systems, and site improvements. This is a full-time, paid internship running from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
- Assist in preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for land development, public works, and water projects.
- Perform drafting work using CAD software.
- Complete calculations and analysis for design projects.
- Prepare permit applications and regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with team members, including architects, surveyors, and contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Civil Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent.
- Strong organization skills and a self-motivated approach to tasks.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work well within a team.
