About the role#
This internship focuses on Water Resources. You will gain practical experience in a collaborative environment while learning about the processes and values of an employee-owned firm. The role involves a mix of office-based planning and design work alongside field investigations and site visits.
What you'll do#
- Participate in on-the-job training for various engineering activities.
- Assist engineers or technicians with full plan development.
- Perform drafting tasks and basic engineering design calculations.
- Compile project data and complete routine assignments across different project phases.
- Learn about survey activities, including the operation of GPS and conventional survey equipment.
- Gain exposure to construction observation processes and field tests.
- Collaborate with internal teams like engineers, surveyors, and designers, as well as external clients and contractors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a technical school or a bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering or a related field, with at least one year completed.
- 0-6 months of experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Experience or exposure to CAD or Civil 3D software is preferred.
- Knowledge of survey software and Trimble Business Center is a plus.
- Strong math, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret plans and specifications.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- A safety-oriented mindset and the ability to pass safety training.
