About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy operations at Gateway FS in Christian County, Illinois. You will work under the direction of location management during the summer of 2027 to learn the foundations of the FS and GROWMARK system. The program focuses on building industry connections, developing practical skills, and completing an operational project to improve business efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Operate field research and crop monitoring technology for scouting.
- Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
- Learn the processes for ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
- Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Participate in all required internship activities, including weekly reporting and an orientation event in Bloomington, Illinois.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or certification program at a community college, technical college, or university.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to obtain a Class B Non-CDL license.
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to work at heights or on elevated platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
