About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience with the daily operations of an agronomy location. You will spend about 70 percent of your time at the facility and 30 percent in the fields. The role focuses on inventory management, equipment upkeep, and learning the business side of agronomy operations.
What you'll do#
- Maintain equipment and buildings.
- Replenish anhydrous ammonia tanks during side dress season.
- Manage and record chemical and seed inventory.
- Work toward obtaining an Ag CDL.
- Participate in the Applicator Licensure process.
- Study how operational decisions affect business profit and loss.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, preferably as an Agronomy Junior or Senior.
- Previous agronomy or field experience.
- Ability to work outdoors for long periods and perform heavy lifting.
- A valid driver license, a good driving record, and a reliable vehicle.
- Commitment to following all safety standards when handling restricted pesticides and chemicals.
