    About the role#

    Crop Technician Interns perform diagnostic tasks throughout the growing season to assist with field services. You will help the team make informed and economic decisions by gathering data in the field. The role involves a flexible schedule with 75% of your time spent in fields and 25% dedicated to training, tours, and events.

    What you'll do#

    • Scout fields to identify weeds, insects, diseases, growth stages, stand counts, and field anomalies.
    • Create scouting reports based on your findings.
    • Use drones to make aerial observations, produce imagery, and collect data.
    • Collect corn or soybean tissue samples for testing.
    • Perform soil moisture tests and install moisture monitoring equipment.
    • Collect soil nitrate samples to monitor nutrient availability.
    • Organize, place, and remove field signs.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, preferably in an Agriculture program.
    • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions.
    • Self-motivation and the ability to complete work with little or no supervision.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to learn new concepts quickly.
    • Proficiency with iPads, GPS software, and field equipment.
    • A valid driver license, a good driving record, and a reliable vehicle.

    • Location: West Point, Indiana.
    • Work modality: On-site.
    • Employment type: Part-time, rolling term.
    • Compensation: Paid hourly with mileage reimbursement at the IRS standard rate.
    • Additional benefits: Drone license education and exam fee reimbursement, plus completion incentives.
