About the role#
As a Crop Technician Intern, you will perform diagnostic work throughout the growing season to help our team make informed decisions. This role involves significant time in the field, with approximately 75% of your work occurring outdoors and 25% dedicated to training, tours, and events. You will work a flexible schedule and receive weekly professional development.
What you'll do#
- Scout fields to identify weeds, insects, diseases, growth stages, stand counts, and other anomalies.
- Create scouting reports and share your observations with the Ag Tech team.
- Fly drones to collect aerial imagery and data.
- Collect corn and soybean tissue samples for testing.
- Perform soil moisture tests and install monitoring equipment to assist with watering recommendations.
- Collect soil nitrate samples to monitor nutrient availability.
- Manage the placement and removal of field signs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, preferably in an agriculture-related major.
- Ability to work outdoors for long periods in all weather conditions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to learn new concepts quickly.
- A self-motivated approach to completing tasks with little or no supervision.
- Proficiency with iPads, GPS software, and field equipment.
- A valid driver license, a good driving record, and a reliable vehicle.

- This position is based in Templeton, Indiana.
- Work is on-site with 100% travel within the territory.
- This is a paid, part-time internship.
