About the role#
As an Agronomy Student Coordinator, you will manage a team of regional Crop Technician Interns. This role involves balancing office work with field time to support our agronomy operations. You will spend roughly 60 percent of your time in the office and 40 percent in the field, attending tours, or participating in training. This position is part-time and offers a flexible schedule.
What you'll do#
- Manage and educate a team of regional Crop Technician Interns throughout the season.
- Review scouting reports for accuracy regarding weeds, diseases, insects, growth stages, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Provide agronomic and technical diagnostic support to interns both remotely and in the field.
- Handle weekly dispatch of fields and report observations to Ag Tech Leads.
- Assist with special projects in collaboration with Ag Tech Leads.
- Attend weekly check-in meetings and scheduled intern events.
- Scout fields as needed to help meet weekly acre completion goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with a major in Agriculture.
- Previous scouting experience is required.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to learn new concepts quickly.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Proficiency with laptops, iPads, GPS software, and field equipment.
- Capacity to work outdoors for long periods in various weather conditions.
- A valid driver license, a good driving record, and a reliable vehicle for travel.
Location & details#
This role is located in Summitville, Marion, and Muncie, Indiana. The position requires travel throughout the territory. We offer a paid internship with mileage reimbursement and support for drone license education.
