About the role#
CHS is looking for a Field Research Intern to join the Product Development team for the Summer of 2027. You will gain experience across all aspects of research and development while learning how a product concept moves from an idea to reality. You will develop agronomic knowledge and see how technical specialists partner with account managers, dealers, and growers to conduct research.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate replicated third party research trials to assess the efficacy of CHS products.
- Assist with coordinating field scale side-by-side and strip trials.
- Visit plots to collect data and visuals.
- Analyze data and create tools to support product sales.
- Conduct small scale replicated research, including trial setup, pesticide applications, treatment evaluations, and trial maintenance.
- Learn the features and benefits of CHS products and the crop protection development pipeline.
- Assist with product applications as needed.
- Complete an individual project throughout the summer, culminating in a final presentation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in relevant coursework at a 2 or 4 year higher education institution.
- An interest in agricultural business.

- Location: Willmar, Minnesota.
- Travel: You will travel throughout South Dakota and potentially surrounding states.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship.
