About the role#
Advanced Agrilytics is seeking interns for the summer of 2027 to assist with on-farm scouting and spatial research. You will gain experience in general agronomy, plant pathology, and data evaluation while working on spatial agricultural research. This role focuses on understanding how seed, chemical, equipment, and management practices interact within specific environments.
What you'll do#
- Scout research trials across different areas and environments.
- Implement trials and collect data in the field.
- Conduct plant collections and sample processing.
- Perform data entry at research facilities.
- Participate in soil sample collection efforts.
- Communicate with growers, agronomists, and staff.
- Work both independently and as part of a team.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Agriculture or Science.
- Willingness to work in on-farm and in-field conditions.
- Task-driven approach to projects.
- Ability to work well alone or in group settings.
- Growth mindset and a desire to learn.
- Familiarity with current farming practices is helpful.

- Location: Ames, Iowa.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week, with occasional extra hours as needed).
- Travel: This role includes day travel and some overnight events. Approved travel expenses are reimbursed.
