About the role#
This is a full-time, paid research internship for Summer 2027 based in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. You will help manage the implementation and data collection for assigned summer trials. The work requires a focus on quality and accuracy, alongside independent problem-solving when issues arise on the farm.
What you'll do#
- Assist with trial design and manage the data collection process.
- Weigh pigs and feed.
- Feed experimental animals, tag them, and tattoo them.
- Support research barn staff with daily chores.
- Coordinate with farm personnel on data collection protocols.
- Summarize trial results and present your findings to designated team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary agriculture program.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment.
- A high level of respect for your team and the animals.
- Prior swine experience is preferred, ideally including a previous introductory swine production internship.
