    About the role#

    Crop Technician Interns perform various diagnostic tasks throughout the growing season. You will assist the team in making informed and economic decisions by gathering field data. This role involves significant travel within the territory, with 75% of your time spent in fields and 25% dedicated to training, events, and tours.

    What you'll do#

    • Scout fields to identify weeds, insects, diseases, growth stages, stand counts, and other anomalies, then report these findings to the Ag Tech team.
    • Operate drones to collect data, produce imagery, and make aerial observations.
    • Collect corn or soybean tissue samples and prepare them for testing.
    • Perform soil moisture tests and install monitoring equipment to assist with irrigation recommendations.
    • Collect soil nitrate samples to monitor nutrient availability.
    • Manage the placement and removal of field signs.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, preferably as an agronomy student.
    • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to learn new concepts quickly.
    • Capacity to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner.
    • Proficiency with iPads, GPS software, and various field equipment.
    • A valid driver license, a good driving record, and a reliable vehicle.

    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Employment Type: Part-time, rolling internship.
    • Compensation: Paid hourly with mileage reimbursement and drone license exam fee coverage.
