About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the Feed Livestock and Grain Business Unit. You will work alongside experienced professionals on tasks tailored to your interests and experience level. The program includes a capstone project that you will present to senior leadership at the end of your term.
What you'll do#
- Advise on local grain markets and ingredient purchasing.
- Coordinate truck and rail operations.
- Apply USDA grain grading standards.
- Track and map the flow of grain and feed ingredients through terminal facilities.
- Operate PLC equipment to load feed delivery trucks.
- Load and unload railcars and perform related rail duties.
- Maintain facility grounds through cleaning and general upkeep.
- Assist with equipment maintenance.
- Follow safety and OSHA guidelines.
- Communicate project needs and accomplishments to management.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in an agriculture-related field.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
- A valid driver license, good driving record, and a reliable vehicle.
- At least one prior internship is preferred.
