    About the role#

    Crop Technician Interns perform diagnostic tasks throughout the growing season. You will assist with field scouting, data collection, and equipment management to help our team make informed agricultural decisions. This role involves significant field work and travel within the assigned territory.

    What you'll do#

    • Create scouting reports to track weeds, insects, diseases, growth stages, and field anomalies.
    • Report all observations to the Ag Tech team.
    • Fly drones to collect aerial data and produce imagery.
    • Collect corn and soybean tissue samples for laboratory testing.
    • Perform soil moisture tests and install monitoring equipment.
    • Conduct soil nitrate sampling to monitor nutrient levels.
    • Place, organize, and remove field signs.
    • Participate in weekly professional development activities.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, with a preference for students studying Agronomy.
    • A genuine interest in the agricultural field.
    • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to learn new concepts quickly.
    • Self-motivation and the ability to complete tasks with little or no supervision.
    • Proficiency with iPads, GPS software, and field equipment.
    • A valid driver's license, a good driving record, and a reliable vehicle.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Kempton, Indiana.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Part-time with a flexible schedule.
    • Travel: 100% travel within the territory, with approximately 75% of time spent in fields and 25% in training, tours, or events.
    • Compensation: Paid hourly with mileage reimbursement at the IRS standard rate. We also provide drone license education and exam fee reimbursement, along with incentives for completing the internship.
