About the role#
Grand Traverse Resort and Spa is hiring a Guest Services Intern for the Summer 2027 season. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role in Acme, Michigan. You will serve as a resort ambassador, managing front desk operations and assisting guests throughout their stay.
What you'll do#
- Welcome guests and manage the check-in and check-out process.
- Maintain guest accounts and handle incoming telephone calls, messages, and the paging system.
- Use 4 Diamond verbiage to provide service.
- Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns or complaints with empathy.
- Maintain your work area and manage office supply inventory.
- Assist with PBX duties and follow all safety and emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and maintain communication with your supervisor.
- Participate in job shadowing, attend bi-weekly intern meetings, and complete assigned projects.
- Attend customer service training and follow all grooming and dress standards.
- Work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a university, college, or community college.
- You must receive college credit for this internship.
- Prior experience in customer service or a relevant field.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Detail orientation and the ability to input data into a computer.
- A high energy level and the ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
