About the role#
As a Reservations and Conference Accommodations Intern for Summer 2027, you will act as the first point of contact for resort guests. You will help guests navigate our lodging, golf, spa, and dining options to build their stay. You will also work with our Conference Services team to learn the logistics of managing large event room blocks. This role provides hands-on experience in reservation management and guest relations.
What you'll do#
- Book reservations accurately in our system using correct departmental codes.
- Answer phone calls promptly and professionally.
- Describe the property layout, accommodations, and facilities to guests.
- Stay informed on all current promotions, packages, and rates.
- Manage no-shows, cancellations, guarantees, and direct billing.
- Coordinate with Group Reservations, Front Desk, and Housekeeping departments.
- Complete clerical tasks like typing and filing.
- Attend GTRS orientation, guest relation classes, and customer service training.
- Participate in bi-weekly intern meetings and committee meetings.
- Complete assigned internship projects.
- Maintain a clean work area and follow company grooming and dress standards.
- Report unusual requests or guest concerns to your manager.
- Work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a University, College, or Community College.
- Requirement to receive college credit for this internship.
- Previous experience in customer service or a relevant field.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- An outgoing, friendly, and professional demeanor.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screen.
- Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds and sit for long periods.
