About the role#
Join Grand Traverse Resort and Spa as a Front Desk Intern for the Summer 2027 season. This role offers hands-on experience in hospitality operations at a large resort. You will serve as an ambassador for the property while learning established service standards.
What you'll do#
- Welcome and bid farewell to guests.
- Manage check-in and check-out processes while maintaining guest accounts.
- Use 4 Diamond Verbiage during interactions.
- Handle incoming telephone calls, guest messages, and the paging system.
- Anticipate guest needs and resolve complaints with empathy.
- Maintain your work area and manage office supply inventory.
- Assist with PBX duties as needed.
- Job shadow in other departments and attend bi-weekly intern meetings.
- Complete assigned internship projects and customer service training.
- Maintain communication with your supervisor and build rapport with the team.
- Follow all safety, emergency, and environmental policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a University, College, or Community College.
- Must receive college credit for the internship.
- Customer service or other relevant experience.
- Ability to type and input data into a computer.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
- Ability to work unsupervised and maintain high energy.
- Must pass a background investigation and a drug screen.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25lbs.
- Adherence to resort grooming and dress standards.
