About the role#
As a Housekeeping Supervisor Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the operational management of a resort. You will oversee the daily cleaning, maintenance, and quality assurance of rooms, condo units, and public areas. This role involves leading, training, and motivating staff while managing department logistics, inventory, and productivity tracking.
What you'll do#
- Supervise daily operations and inspect rooms to ensure they meet quality standards before release.
- Lead, train, and motivate Room Attendants and Linen Porters.
- Maintain accurate records, submit reports, and coordinate maintenance requests through dispatch.
- Monitor OSHA standards, ensure safe work environments, and follow procedures for handling bloodborne pathogens.
- Manage department inventory, including housekeeping carts and linen closets.
- Assist the Executive Housekeeper with performance evaluations, employee training, and conduct.
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering calls, maintaining phone logs, and managing Lost and Found.
- Enforce company policies, including personal appearance standards and the open door policy.
- Attend bi-weekly intern meetings and complete assigned internship projects.
What you'll need#
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license and eligibility for coverage under the company insurance plan.
- Relevant experience or a background in customer service.
- Previous supervisory experience in a hotel or resort setting is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for long periods, including climbing stairs and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong communication, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screen.

- Location: Acme, Michigan.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, 32-40+ hours per week, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid internship.
- Note: Native American preference applies.
