About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will gain hands-on experience in resort management by working directly with our professional golf staff. You will serve as the first point of contact for guests, managing daily logistics and learning the operational standards of a golf destination.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests and members as they enter the Pro Shop.
- Check in golfers using the EZ Links tee sheet and process transactions through Abacus 21 software.
- Handle payments including cash, credit cards, and gift certificates.
- Assist guests on the sales floor and promote other resort amenities like the spa, food and beverage, and lodging.
- Answer phones promptly and book tee times accurately.
- Coordinate daily with the maintenance crew regarding course conditions and golf car restrictions.
- Communicate updates to starters and player assistants.
- Complete end-of-day reports and daily cash drops.
- Maintain a clean and organized Pro Shop.
- Attend bi-weekly intern and committee meetings while completing assigned internship projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a college, university, or community college.
- You must receive college credit for this internship.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Good computer skills, with Microsoft Excel experience being helpful.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Familiarity with golf operations and etiquette is preferred.
- Prior customer service or cashier experience is helpful.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Adherence to the GTRS Employee Handbook grooming and dress standards.
Location & details#
- Location: Acme, Michigan.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, 30-40+ hours per week. Shifts vary between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
