About the role#
The Functional Electrical Test Characterization team at Fab 9 is looking for an intern to join for the Summer 2027 term. This position focuses on characterizing signals from wafer, kerf, and inline tests to drive yield improvement projects. You will work across various internal and external teams and communicate directly or indirectly with customers to meet business objectives.
What you'll do#
- Monitor electrical performance trends and handle the disposition of holds at electrical test.
- Conduct yield analysis and develop improvement plans.
- Investigate abnormal product issues and support material and change review boards.
- Support general and urgent fab operational issues.
- Develop and refine methodologies for yield characterization and data analysis to identify yield limiters.
- Collaborate with process module engineering to improve cost, cycle-time, and manufacturing robustness.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security requirements.
What you'll need#
- A B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- A solid understanding of semiconductor technology and solid state device physics.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to deliver work on time.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working effectively within a globally matrixed team.
- A desire to learn and contribute as a team player.
- Preferred: 1+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, prior internship or co-op experience, and customer-facing experience.
- Preferred: Demonstrated leadership in school projects or the workplace, along with project management skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
