About the role#
As a Technology Architecture Engineering Intern, you will work with the Technology Architecture and Competitiveness Structural Analysis team. Your work will focus on improving technology competitiveness through reverse engineering, design compaction, and migration techniques. You will collaborate with design, tear down, and laboratory teams to generate technical insights and support data-driven technology assessments.
What you'll do#
- Conduct reverse engineering analyses and structured technical investigations of semiconductor technologies.
- Coordinate sample preparation, data collection, and analysis activities with laboratory and tear down support teams.
- Interpret structural, layout, and technology findings, documenting your methods, assumptions, and results.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to support project and market-analysis needs.
- Support design teams by using layout-analysis and design-migration tools to evaluate technology options.
- Identify opportunities for design compaction and optimization while comparing design-rule impacts.
- Develop or improve scripts and repeatable workflows, including opportunities to apply Python or AI-enabled techniques.
- Collaborate with engineering partners to review results, resolve methodology gaps, and communicate project status and risks.
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner and support Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a sophomore in a Bachelor’s program for Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and good academic standing.
- English fluency in both written and verbal forms.
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Preferred: Prior internship or co-op experience, leadership experience, and project management skills.
- Preferred: Familiarity with semiconductor device operation, basic circuit design, and processing technologies.
- Preferred: Experience with electronic design automation and layout tools like Cadence Virtuoso, KLayout, or Calibre.
- Preferred: Knowledge of Python, semiconductor design rules, and statistical analysis methods.
- Preferred: Interest in reverse engineering, physical layout analysis, data visualization, or technical report development.
