About the role#
Geotab is seeking a Data Scientist Intern to join our team for a 4-month term starting in January 2027. You will work alongside data scientists and product managers to explore, transform, and productionize data for our product pillars. This is a full-time, paid position based on a 37.5-hour work week.
What you'll do#
- Design and build new metrics and data models using prototypes, algorithms, and predictive models.
- Pull data sets and create presentations or visualizations for strategic customers.
- Assist with dashboarding to track coverage and accuracy metrics for data science models.
- Test the performance of data-driven products and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Write queries to extract data from our Big Data Infrastructure using Google BigQuery.
- Contribute to the sprint development and review cycle within your assigned team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Practical experience with SQL and Python.
- Experience using a BI platform such as Looker or PowerBI.
- Interest in working with sensor data and data cleaning.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a creative approach to problem-solving.

- Term: Winter 2027 (January start).

- Compensation: This is a paid internship with an anticipated hourly rate between $24 and $36 CAD.
