About the role#
The Data Engineering team at General Motors creates software to manage vehicle data recording systems. This co-op position focuses on the Control and Data planes that define how our vehicles record and process information. You will work across teams to build pipelines, manage configurations, and analyze data to improve system performance.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain configuration files that set the operational state of vehicle Control and Data planes.
- Design and maintain software pipelines to verify the integrity of data and control parameters.
- Build tools to ingest, manage changes, and release configuration files.
- Support CI/CD and DevOps efforts to automate the integration, testing, and release of software parameters.
- Analyze vehicle data logs to find discrepancies and optimize performance.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Data Science.
- Must be enrolled in a co-op program and legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Ability to work full time (40 hours a week) for a term of 8 or 12 months.
- Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Location & details#
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Locations: Markham, Ontario or Oshawa, Ontario.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (expected to report to the office at least three times per week).
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
