About the role#
The Mechatronic Infrastructure Diagnostic System team is looking for a co-op student to support a digital modernization project. You will help migrate diagnostic content, data, and collaboration solutions from Microsoft-based platforms to new environments including Google Workspace, Confluence, Jira, and GitHub. This role focuses on information architecture, data transformation, and the responsible use of AI to accelerate migration workflows.
What you'll do#
- Analyze existing Microsoft Workspace files, SharePoint websites, and SharePoint lists to understand their structure and purpose.
- Define and apply mapping rules to convert Microsoft products into Google Workspace equivalents.
- Reproduce documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and forms in Google Workspace.
- Redevelop SharePoint websites using Google-based solutions while preserving usability and navigation.
- Convert SharePoint lists into approved solutions like GitHub or Jira.
- Develop repeatable processes, scripts, and AI-assisted workflows to reduce manual effort.
- Use approved AI tools to assist with content analysis, field mapping, YAML generation, and documentation.
- Validate migrated content through structured comparisons, data checks, and stakeholder feedback.
- Document conversion procedures, mapping decisions, and known limitations.
- Collaborate with technical teams and subject-matter experts to resolve migration issues.
- Follow GitHub version-control practices, including branching, pull requests, and reviews.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Robotics, Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Applied Science, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Enrollment in a co-op program with the ability to work full time (40 hours a week) for a 4-month term starting January 2027.
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
- Strong experience with Git and GitHub, including repositories, branches, and commits.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including tables, formulas, and macros.
- Demonstrated experience with Python, Jira, Confluence, and Markdown.

- Location: Markham, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid (expected to report to the Markham Elevation Centre at least three times per week).
- Employment: Full time, paid position.
