About the role#
As a Data Engineer Intern, you will join our Advanced Analytics team for a hands-on experience. You will work within our cloud environments to build data pipelines that support our internal customers. This role involves partnering with data scientists and analysts to understand their goals and craft solutions to technical challenges. You will be based at our global headquarters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the data science team to source and deliver data for business problems.
- Work with Senior Engineers to support report development and analytics projects using data lake technologies.
- Consult with internal customers to gather reporting and data requirements.
- Partner with business and Digital Technology teams to address data quality issues.
- Use tools such as Databricks, Azure Cloud, and Qlik Replicate to manage data delivery.
- Assist in preparing analytics presentations for executive leadership.
- Research and share insights on emerging technologies that align with our objectives.
- Identify and propose ideas for continuous improvement.
- Support our Digital Technology strategic pillars of innovation, growth, and resiliency.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master’s program for Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience using Python as a data transformation tool.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
- Familiarity with the analytics lifecycle, including data extraction, validation, and cleansing.
- Experience with report building and data visualization.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing needs or deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to relocate to Oshkosh, WI, for the duration of the internship.
- Previous internship experience in the Global IT field, specifically with IT implementations or change efforts, is a plus.
