About the role#
General Dynamics Electric Boat is hiring interns for the Summer 2027 season. This program provides exposure to cybersecurity operations within the defense industry. You will work alongside senior staff to support the evaluation and development of IT technologies while ensuring compliance with security requirements.
What you'll do#
- Assist with developing and maintaining security plan documentation.
- Monitor and analyze user and system activity.
- Support incident response activities.
- Collaborate with the Information System Security Manager, Information System Security Officer, and Cybersecurity Operations Center personnel.
- Work with system stakeholders to assess risks and identify vulnerabilities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a Bachelor or Master of Science program for Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Completion of your Freshman year before the internship begins.
- US citizenship.
- Ability to pass a medically supervised drug screen and a background check.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools like Word and Excel.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in Groton, CT, or New London, CT.
- You must be available to work 40 hours per week for at least eight consecutive weeks between May 2027 and September 2027.
- You are responsible for your own housing and transportation.
