About the role#
This internship position focuses on information security systems engineering. You will work on assessing security infrastructure and network design while identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities. The role involves technical support for engineering initiatives and the development of policies to secure system infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Assess security infrastructure and network designs.
- Identify security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities across applications and systems.
- Oversee the testing and operation of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-virus tools.
- Develop policies and procedures to maintain system security.
- Evaluate and implement network security products and services.
- Provide recommendations to clients regarding information assurance standards and technologies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor, Master, or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Recent graduates who completed a Bachelor degree within the last 12 months are also eligible.
- Familiarity with LAN/WAN networking and security infrastructure like firewalls, VPNs, and IPSec.
- Understanding of system security topics including authentication, access control, cryptography, and application security.

- Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado.
- Schedule: 9/80 work schedule, which includes every other Friday off.
- Employment type: Full time.
- Status: Paid internship.
