About the role#
Join the Residential Power Electronics team in Reno to help develop embedded firmware for power generation products. You will work on-site five days a week, applying your academic background to real-world engineering projects. This role involves hands-on work in the lab, collaboration with experienced engineers, and ownership of a defined project that delivers value to the team.
What you'll do#
- Support firmware development for embedded controllers using C and C++.
- Create and maintain firmware modules and related documentation.
- Develop test specifications for new systems and firmware.
- Conduct and evaluate firmware and hardware testing in the lab.
- Participate in design reviews to learn from senior engineers.
- Use Python scripting and simulation tools for automation tasks.
- Troubleshoot designs alongside cross-functional engineering teams.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Coursework or project experience in embedded programming with C or C++.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Comfort working in a hands-on lab environment.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Python, Git, or prior experience with physical embedded systems.
