About the role#
Generac is hiring a Compliance Engineering Intern to support the testing and evaluation of energy storage systems, high-power inverters, and power electronics. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will work from our Reno, Nevada or South Portland, Maine locations.
What you'll do#
- Support product testing and evaluation against global standards.
- Execute product safety testing and construction reviews.
- Perform grid interoperability testing, troubleshooting, data analysis, and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external labs to resolve equipment issues.
- Support test automation using AC/DC power sources and measurement equipment.
- Design and build test fixtures and lab setups for certification and compliance testing.
- Identify process improvements to increase testing efficiency.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma.
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Strong Python skills.
- A basic understanding of high-voltage systems.
- The ability to read or support the development of electrical wiring diagrams.
