About the role#
The Electrical Engineer Intern will join the Building Electrical Group to support the design and construction of food and beverage production facilities. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Salt Lake City for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Design electrical systems for building power, including normal, emergency, and standby distribution.
- Document necessary design calculations, such as short circuit, arc flash, and load calculations.
- Design lighting systems for food processing environments and coordinate fixture placement.
- Develop fire alarm system designs in accordance with NFPA 72, 101, and local building codes.
- Manage project time effectively to meet commitments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in an electrical engineering or related bachelor's degree program.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
- Familiarity with lighting design, fire alarm systems, and low voltage systems.
- Exposure to three-phase power, the National Electric Code, wireless radio systems, and Fiber or LAN cabling is a plus.
