About the role#
Dennis Group designs and builds facilities for the food and beverage industry. As a Process/Project Engineer Intern, you will participate in the full project lifecycle, from initial conceptual design through construction and commissioning. You will work alongside architects and engineers to help build processing plants for major brands.
What you'll do#
- Develop process design basis and select unit operations.
- Prepare process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Assist project management teams with the development of project scope, budgets, and schedules.
- Provide onsite support for construction, start-up, and commissioning phases.
- Research process engineering best practices.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior standing in a Bachelor’s degree program for Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Familiarity with process flow diagrams and P&IDs.
- Experience using MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
- An interest in food safety and sanitary design principles.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Duluth, Georgia.
- The role is on-site and requires 30-50% travel to visit project sites and other offices.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 15 pounds and spend extended periods working at a desk.
