About the role#
The Future Engineer Program is a summer internship designed for students interested in building a long-term career in engineering and operations. We look for individuals who want to develop into future leaders within our organization. You will gain exposure to various business areas, build professional relationships, and work on projects that contribute to our goals.
What you'll do#
- Gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Work on meaningful engineering and operational projects.
- Partner with teams across Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Safety.
- Analyze problems, evaluate data, and help develop practical solutions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Take ownership of projects and present results and key learnings to leadership.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to take ownership.
- Experience in a leadership role within a class project, student organization, team, committee, or volunteer activity.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which includes standing for long periods, climbing stairs or ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Interest in manufacturing, engineering, operations, and leadership.
Location & details#
- Location: Decatur, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position.
- Compensation: $26.91 to $33.63 per hour.
- Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage are provided.
