About the role#
Dennis Group is looking for an Electrical Engineer Intern to join our Building Electrical Group for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on design and build projects for industrial food and beverage production facilities. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Springfield, Massachusetts.
What you'll do#
- Design building power systems, including normal, emergency, and standby distribution.
- Perform and document design calculations such as load requirements, short circuit, arc flash, and conductor sizing.
- Design fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72 and 101 standards.
- Maintain project documentation and organization.
- Apply power system theory, including three-phase vector math and power factor analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in an electrical engineering or related bachelor's degree program.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel, Word, and Access.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
- Working knowledge of three-phase power and the National Electric Code.
