About the role#
Dennis Group designs and builds food and beverage production facilities. As a Mechanical Engineer intern, you will join our mechanical department to assist with HVAC, plumbing, utility, and fire suppression systems. You will work on multiple concurrent assignments and contribute to the full project lifecycle from design to construction administration.
What you'll do#
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations.
- Review codes for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs.
- Assist in mechanical system design development and coordinate with internal and external team members.
- Create project documents, including calculations, reports, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Perform construction administration tasks such as submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field visits to verify construction scope.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in a bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Understanding of fundamental calculations regarding energy, drainage, and line loss.
- Familiarity with heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
- HVAC or utilities design experience is a plus.
