About the role#
As a Mechanical Design Intern, you will join the team responsible for the design and manufacturing of hydraulic turbines. You will work alongside senior engineers, designers, and other technical staff within a large engineering office. You will contribute to current projects and development activities as an active team member.
What you'll do#
- Perform mechanical design of heavy equipment for hydroelectric turbines.
- Design special tooling related to turbine equipment.
- Provide technical support to various GE departments.
- Collaborate with senior engineers in multidisciplinary teams.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years of university studies in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with basic mechanical calculations.
- Knowledge of materials science, fluid mechanics, and vibration analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and CAD software.
- Written proficiency in English.
- Less than two years of work experience outside of internships or co-op programs.
