About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Seattle for the summer of 2027. You will work with our bridge team to support client projects and gain experience in transportation infrastructure design. You will receive mentorship and supervision from experienced engineers throughout the program.
What you'll do#
- Perform 3D modeling, design, and drafting for transportation structures like bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and sign structures.
- Assist with quantity calculations and contribute to cost estimates.
- Aid in the development of construction contract documents.
- Review shop and working drawings.
- Coordinate work activities with other disciplines.
- Review inspection reports and perform bridge load ratings under supervision.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate Civil Engineering program with a focus on structures.
- Demonstrated interest in bridge design through coursework or previous internships.
- A basic understanding of bridge design principles.
- Familiarity with CADD software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a design team.
- Experience with 3D modeling software such as Revit, Civil 3D, and STADD is preferred.
