About the role#
This summer internship offers students the chance to work alongside engineering professionals on real projects. You will apply your academic knowledge to introductory engineering tasks while gaining hands-on experience in a professional setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing design concepts, studies, and design options.
- Perform basic analysis and design calculations under direct supervision.
- Prepare project deliverables, including plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
- Conduct field investigations and support construction administrative duties.
- Provide general support to engineering staff members.
- Help review project close-out documents.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in civil engineering or a related program, preferably at a junior level or higher.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise good engineering judgment and work well with professionals at all levels.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation is preferred.

- Locations: Chicago, Bolingbrook, and Peoria, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Employment: Full-time and paid position.
- Compensation: $20 to $23 per hour.
