About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. You will work on a hybrid schedule, joining our water team to support infrastructure projects. You will receive mentorship from experienced professionals while gaining experience in the planning, design, and construction administration of water, wastewater, and municipal projects.
What you'll do#
- Support real client projects through the planning, design, and construction administration phases.
- Assist with site visits, surveys, inspections, and data collection for utility infrastructure.
- Prepare reports, design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Review subdivision, land development, grading, and zoning plans, including stormwater management and erosion control.
- Prepare permit applications for federal, state, and local agencies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.
- Demonstrated interest in water or wastewater engineering through prior work, internships, or academic coursework.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in the field and contribute to project teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with BIM, Civil 3D, GIS, hydraulic or hydrologic modeling, and specialty engineering software is preferred.
- Experience with municipal and private utilities is a plus.
