About the role#
This clinical placement offers students the chance to work within a dialysis health care team. You will support the delivery of medical nutrition therapy while adhering to company compliance programs and regulatory requirements. All work is performed under the direct supervision of a registered dietitian.
What you'll do#
- Conduct nutrition interviews with patients.
- Calculate recommendations for diet prescriptions.
- Provide nutrition counseling to patients and their caregivers.
- Review monthly nutrition data with patients.
- Collect data for comprehensive interdisciplinary assessments.
- Assist in the development and implementation of nutrition care plans.
- Practice writing monthly nutrition progress notes.
- Create nutrition-related projects for patients or staff, such as educational handouts or lobby activities.
- Attend interdisciplinary team meetings.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
- Current enrollment in an accredited Coordinated Program in Dietetics.
- A strong desire to deliver quality care to patients.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Ability to work under the direct supervision of a registered dietitian.
